What is this?
This site lets you create and share text pastes privately, more or less. It can also be used for general text file hosting, for non-sensitive data.
-
How is my paste encrypted?
Your browser encrypts the text with AES-GCM before sending it. The decryption key is included in the link after the # character and never leaves your device. Browsers do not send that part of the link to the server, and the site removes the key from the address bar after loading the paste.
-
What info do you store?
The paste service receives and stores encrypted content, an expiration time, and a hash of the delete key. Nothing else is stored and even I can't see what you upload.
-
Can anyone who has the link read my paste?
Anyone with the complete link can decrypt and read the paste, so only share it with people you trust. Treat the link as a password.
-
How long does a paste last?
You can set an expiration from 1 minute to 92,160 minutes (64 days). After it expires, the paste can no longer be opened.
-
Could I use this for passwords or other highly sensitive content?
No!!! Anyone who gets the complete share link can read the paste. You shouldn't store passwords, secrets, or anything else that would cause harm if shared.
